Lauren began working at West 4th Physiotherapy in 2002 after graduating from UBC in 2001. Lauren completed her Fellowship in Manual and Manipulative Therapy in 2005 and was certified to practise IMS in 2008.
Lauren brings both a team and individual sport background to her practise. Her individual sports have included Ironman, marathons, the Knee Knacker and the Sea to Summit adventure race. She played varsity field hockey at the University of Western Ontario. In addition, Lauren finds practising yoga and pilates have been important for injury prevention.
Lauren has a further special interest in perinatal care. She has taught post partum classes which help restore pelvic floor and lower abdominal functioning. She also treats pregnant women for musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction and provides guidance for exercise during pregnancy.
For 7 years Lauren has enjoyed working with many interesting and diverse clients in the Kitsilano community.
Lauren plans to take the next year to be at home with her children. She will be filling in at the clinic from time to time over summer and is looking forward to being part of the West 4th Physio team who will be completing the Vancouver to Seattle 2010 Ride to Conquer Cancer. http://www.west4thphysio.com/ride-to-conquer-cancer-2010/ride-to-conquer-cancer-2010/
